T-shirts all the time

Onto the other end of our business.  Halloween costumes at Crazy Dog T-shirts.  We are aiming to offer the top sellers and new offerings in Halloween costumes for 2008.  A large portion of our site will be dedicated to sexy halloween costumes for women.  Our top seller last year the ghostbuster girl costume and in a close second pricess peach costume and the nintendo mario costume.  Of course we still want our funny t-shirts to be on the forefront and are only supplementing that segment with the costumes.  We feel we cover a nice mix and make sure we have all the costumes in stock and ready to ship so people don't have to worry about their Halloween deliveries.

Creating the designs

Now leaving off with the creating of funny t designs.  It seem so simple to use a character out there for example.  A funny chuck norris t-shirt.  But it all boils down to licensing.  Some things are fair game and others certainly are not.  You can't use an actors face unless you are wholesaling the tees or have the license.  Well licensing is quite expensive.  Just to do a jaws t-shirt the license for that is $10,000 for the year.  Then you can see where other licenses would go from there.  We wholesale all of our character prints or copyrighted works.  The rest of the tees without a licensed character on them our submitted by customers and or created by our team.  We constantly are looking for new ideas for funny t-shirts and as always we offer compensation for the ideas.  It is hard to constantly think of these new ideas and that is why you have to pool as large a group as possible.  The ideas are definitely out there and more than worth it!

Hey guys thought I could leave a little helpful input. I own www.crazydogtshirts.com we have tons of licensed and non-licensed tees. For prices on licenses a good example is the jaws license that alone costs $10,000 for the year spot. We wholesale out all the licensed tees. In general to purchase a license tends to be worth it for the wholesale companies who can really pump out the volume. Merchants selling single units to customers are safer taking this route. For copyright issues the bigger you are the more you have to watch out. In most cases companies will ask for you to just take the shirt down and that is that. Chuck Norris went on a spree about a year back and any t-shirt manufacturer with any non-licensed chuck norris t-shirts got the old roundhouse kick to the face plus a cease and desist. Most companies will just let it go. The whole parody bit you can still get in trouble for. Again it really depends on the design and how a-like it is. If it can damage a brand or is confusing with a brand name then sometimes the company will come after you. For example Got Milf and Got Milk that technically is something you shouldn't be printing on a t-shirt. Hope that helps

So major player for funny t-shirts...what did I do to get this ecommerce site really moving?  Well I had some rudimentary skills as far as keywording go.  So I took that and went to work looking up information on the web.  I found a great site that worked for me to submit my site to the search engines.  Everywhere I looked I kept seeing it could take 6 months to start seeing results.  Well once I had really went to work on the keywording things seemed to really start to pick up after the first month.  Now I would recommend going to google and using the google keyword selector for the best ideas for keywords.  It is pretty self explanatory when you get there.  Lots of link exchanging, advertising and work went into the site but it eventually got really moving.

Next step was new inventory.  I was constantly looking for new manufacturers for our t shirts.  I found crooked monkey t-shirts which have many great novelty t-shirts printed on super soft fabric.  As well as Goodie Two Sleeves t-shirts which are in the same field of funny and novelty t-shirts.  With some new manufacturers found I was headed to the next step.  Our own designs.  Several graphic artists constantly submit new ideas.  Once we approve the idea we go ahead with it and start the t-shirt into the lineup.

Now the hard part is thinking of those funny t-shirt designs.  It is really hard!  Love em hate em?  If people don't buy them we remove them.  We try to keep up only the best sellers.  Working the market over to various tastes was important to.

Starting a t-shirt company

Everyone always asks me how we started Crazy Dog T-shirts and where the idea came from.  It originally began back in 2004 as a college project.  I left it on the back burner for some time.  Sales started slowly picking up over the years.  After college when I was out in the job market.  I decided to forget about looking for a job and concentrate all my efforts on selling funny t-shirts and novelty shirts.  It paid off.  Soon sales were up to about 10 seperate orders per day in 2006.   I was pretty excited about that but new it had much more potential.  In 2007 I was able to locate many new wholesale sources for my tshirts as well as new designs we would be creating in house.  Soon Crazy Dog T-shirts would start to become a real player in the t-shirt industry.
